When I had to flirt with Hugh Jackman
Shows
Loretta Ryan
Why should the person reading this page tune to your show?
Because Moyd and I are just like you. Normal everyday people just doing a job and having a good time. We're just two friends chatting and hopefully making new friends with those who are listening. You could picture us just kicking back in the studio, playing some great music and having a bit of fun. Our aim is to give you something to smile about and help you start your day on a pleasant note…We also love that our listeners often just ring up for a chat and to react to something...because that's what friends do. And of course, we have great prizes and often interesting guests who pop in to tell us what's going on around the place, so we're keeping you informed at the same time.
How did you get into radio?
When I think of my start in radio, I always think of my Mum. I had finished my senior schooling and was working part time and wasn't sure what I wanted to do. One day Mum and I went into town and on Mum's insistence went into the CES office to see what type of jobs were around …We saw one advertised on the board for a Schedules Clerk at a radio station. An interview was organised straight away. So Mum and I frantically went in search of an outfit to wear to the interview. I got called back for a second interview. I think they called the next day to say I had the job. I can still see Mum's face as I took the telephone call!
What's the best thing about working for 4BH882?
The first thing I noticed when I came to 4BH was the people. Everyone is really down to earth and friendly. There are no massive egos and people do genuinely care about each other. It's a pleasant place to work and I think that's the most important thing you can hope for in a job.
Tell us one thing your listener would not know about you?
I used to teach Aerobics. I once entered the MISS CATHOLIC LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION Quest! I did Physical Culture when I was at school. I used to play the Piano (I want to learn again)!
What do you do while the songs are playing?
That's usually a good time to go to the loo or make Moyd's coffee! We usually chat about what we're going to do on the air next. Once that's done, it's back to singing along to the music! I also answer phone calls and chat to listeners which is always fun and often they end up telling us something we can use on the air.
What do you do when you're not on-air?
Sleep! Exercise! Also, I do some reporting work for Channel Nine's Extra program. As well as that I often MC events and do voice over's for commercials and telephone messages on hold.
