Paul is the next best thing to having a fish finder. Each week he shares his up-to-date top tips for fishing and the best beach locations across the South East Coastal areas.

Burtie’s fishing and boating experiences started at the age of four, when he learnt to fish during family holidays in the small community of Facing Island off Gladstone. After graduating from school, Paul worked for his brother in fishing tackle stores and on professional boats. His first foray into media was in 1993, when he started writing a column for the Gold Coast Bulletin.

In 1996, Paul started his first business as a fishing charter operator. Within a few months of operation, he also become a regular presenter on Gold Coast television. Four years later, Paul joined Tim Bailey as co-host of Channel Ten's national fishing program, Gone Fishin'. He complemented this role in 2001 by presenting weekly fishing, weather and boating reports on the news.

Since 2005, Burtie has been the Chief Boating, Surf and Fishing Reporter for Nine News - Brisbane and in 2009 made 4BH882 his Brisbane Radio home.
